Donate to my mitzvah project!

For my bar mitzvah, I wanted to make a project that I not only contains an issue I feel deep empathy for but also allows me to have fun doing something that I love. I have deep empathy for people with food insecurity and I love running so if you combine these two factors the logical thing to do is too run a 5k for people with food insecurity.

More information about Food for Others: Food for Others provides emergency free groceries to families in need in Northern Virginia. We distribute food from our Merrifield warehouse, at our mobile food pantries, and at 16 neighborhood sites throughout Northern Virginia. We also provide large quantities of food to 22 smaller local food pantries. Through our Power Pack Program (P3), we make sure that 2,000 children at Fairfax County schools do not go hungry on weekends without their school-provided meals.
