Our Family’s Healing Journey

Sunday, July 28th marks the day that our lives were turned upside down and where our world as we knew it would be forever changed. I was at work when I received the call that Dustin had crashed his dirt bike at the track and suffered injuries that required him to be life-flighted to the nearest trauma hospital. Upon arriving, I was informed of the severity of his injuries; he suffered a traumatic brain injury leaving them no choice but to put him in a medically induced coma; he has an aorta dissection (tear in the blood vessel connected to his heart) collapsed lung, compound fracture in his left arm, several broken ribs, and a broken collarbone and shoulder. As you can imagine, this tragedy has brought our lives to a complete standstill. While I still struggle with believing this is all real, I have all the faith in the world that Dustin will pull through this. We have a very long road ahead of us, and unfortunately the world doesn’t stop and allow us the time we need to adjust to our new reality… So here I am asking for your help if you’re able.
