Help Kathy Fight Cancer: Support Her Surgery
Donation protected
I want to say nothing because I’m tired
And I want to say everything because it matters
Updated details of Kathy’s situation:
My mom was diagnosed with cancer in early September of this year. She hasn’t been able to afford health insurance and she supports herself without help from anyone. I met her in Arkansas a few weeks ago at a natural treatment center where we were turned away due to the severity, risk, and size of her largest tumor. We had to find a surgery center that would take her as soon as possible without insurance. The cost is just over 13K upfront. She will be out of work during her recovery without income and for us to finance the remaining amount, it would cost $250 a month including a 16.9% interest. She doesn’t have enough money to cover her bills this month let alone an ongoing payment of $250.
In 3 days my mom will be receiving an urgent procedure to remove a massive tumor. I’ll be driving back to Kansas in 2 days for my sister and I to drive her to OKC. With that being said I’ve reached out to several churches and have yet to hear back, but I’m confident if one or two churches did a second tithe or gave a donation this would be solved so quickly. I can’t thank each of you enough who have already donated to this but I will in time. Just know that your sacrifice is the SOLE reason my mom will get this procedure. You gave what you could and that is what love is.
Obviously the main expense ahead of us is the 13k but if you want to give a smaller specific gift we need money for gas (or gift cards) for driving to and from OKC, grocery gift cards for her food during recovery as she will be unable to work for weeks, or help paying for her utility bills for November. If you want to help in any of these alternative ways feel free to message me.
a little bit about Kathy:
She’s hardworking to a fault. She goes out of her way to serve and help people, sometimes at the expense of herself. As a musician and guitar teacher, she enjoys being positive and spreading joy through music to her students. She has a way of lightening the load and making you feel like everything is gonna be okay. She was the caregiver of my step dad for the last several years of his life.
On a personal note, this is really traumatic situation for my mom, sister, and I. We’ve already lost my dad to cancer and my step-dad to cancer treatment. I’m very determined to get my mom as much help as she can ♥️
I’m asking for your help in sharing this or donating whatever you can. Sharing it with your church members, family members, friends, coworkers etc. I’ve experienced so much love and support from my community time and time again and I believe you will show up to help my sweet mom. I love you and thank you in advance for helping my mom
Thank you to every single person who has loved us in action!!! Your resources no matter how small will be the reason she has access to this procedure! Sending every one of you hugs
