Donate to rewrite Oliver‘s fate

This is the heartbreaking story of my childhood friend's son, Oliver. The clock is ticking, and we want to help the family raise funds to rewrite Oliver's faith. In less than a year Oliver’s kidney will completely stop! ❤️❤️

Oliver came to life eight years ago, together with his twin brother, Krisztian. Krisztian was born as a healthy boy, while Oliver has been struggling with kidney malfunction and numerous infections ever since. He underwent surgery as a baby but continued to have infection after infection and was diagnosed with Polycystic kidney disease in 2019. In 2021 it has been identified that Oliver might also suffer from a very rare genetic disorder called Joubert syndrome.

This year, the doctors suggested to the family kidney transplantation. However, at present, in their home country Romania the surgery is considered very risky due to limited experience in this kind of surgery, especially on such small children. As a last resort, the family recently visited a hospital in Lyon, where they received somewhat more positive feedback, namely that the Lyon hospital has extensive experience in the type of surgery required and that they would have the possibility to treat Oliver. However, the parents were also informed that the surgery and treatment would likely cost up to 250.000 EUR. Unfortunately, there is also a risk that Oliver will also need a liver transplant, as his liver was affected by the numerous treatments and strong medication.

Making the parent's situation even more difficult, the doctors estimated that they have less than a year to perform the surgery due to Oliver's kidney function continuously degrading.
