Apollo Gardens aims to construct a 3 story, 84 unit, 1 bed/1 bath development in the middle of the Royal Oak community on Demaret Drive. Residents will include the county's most severe mentally ill patients, like those with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and co-occurring addiction issues. Residents will not need a criminal background check, and participation in rehabilitation programs are optional. The only access to this development will be through the Royal Oak Community on Turnesa and Demaret Drive.

We Have Concerns

Over the past two months, we have actively engaged in various activities to spread awareness, including holding meetings in residences, attending City Council and Planning and Zoning meetings, and conversing with reporters. Our primary goal has been to convey the message far and wide. Following a survey conducted among the residents of Royal Oak, it is abundantly clear that Demaret Drive is not the suitable location according to the majority consensus.

Having explored all possible avenues, we have finally arrived at a collective decision that engaging a lawyer is necessary to advance our cause. We kindly request that all residents contribute whatever they are able to in order to protect our property values and ensure the safety of our streets. All funds received will be allocated directly towards covering the costs associated with hiring a lawyer.

In Melbourne, Florida, Carrfour, the developer, has undertaken a similar project. However, within the span of one year, law enforcement had to respond to that particular residence on over 436 occasions, addressing various incidents ranging from opioid abuse to cases of rape and drug offenses.
