Dear friends, family, and kindhearted strangers ,

I am writing to you with a heavy heart to share the story of my husband, Ruben . On July 2nd Ruben suffered a severe heart attack and has been in the ICU ever since. As many of you know, Ruben is the proud owner and the heart and soul of our family run restaurant Rubiano's in Brentwood.

With Ruben unable to work and mounting medical bills, we are struggling to keep the restaurant open. This is a place where Ruben's passion for food and community come together and it's been our families livelihood for years.

We are a family of five with three wonderful children who feel the weight of the situation as much as I am. Everyday he’s fighting for his life to make it back home to his family, but in the meantime, his family is struggling. I am trying to manage the restaurant, working full-time and making sure the kids get to everywhere they need to get to for sports and keeping life as normal as possible.

Asking for help is not easy for us, but we desperately need support during this challenging time.

We have set up this GoFundMe to raise funds to cover Ruben's medical expenses and keep our restaurant running. Any contribution no matter how small would mean the world to us. If you cannot donate, your prayers and good wishes are equally valuable and appreciated.
