Donate to Save Stella: Surgery and Recovery Costs
Donation protected
Hey Y'all, a few weeks ago, I had to take Stella to the vet and then the ER because she was lethargic and had trouble breathing. Turns out, she was leaking fluid from her heart. After an overnight stay in the hospital, oncologist vet visits, X-rays, and CT scans, it was determined that she either has mesothelioma or the fluid leaking is idiopathic, meaning they are not sure what the cause it. Nevertheless, she now has to undergo a surgery to remove the sac around her heart, which will help prevent the fluid from building up. After the surgery, her tissue will be sent for testing to see if it is cancerous. Hopefully, it comes back negative!!
This surgery is estimated to cost between $10k-$15k, and she will have to stay in the hospital for 2-4 days after. I have already spent pretty close to that on the ER bills, follow-ups, and imaging. She is worth every penny, but friends and family suggested I start a GoFundMe to help with the cost.
Anything would be greatly appreciated, even just well wishes! Stella is around 9 or 10 and has been with me through the end of college, law school, and attempting to be an adult. She is my entire world, and as any animal lover knows, she is family.
