Funeral Assistance for Wendy Hernandez’s Family
Donation protected
Update:
It is with great sadness that I share the heartbreaking news that my sister-in-law, Wendy Hernandez, has passed away after her long and courageous battle. Despite all of our efforts and the support from so many generous people, Wendy is no longer with us.
As her family, we are now faced with the overwhelming task of covering her funeral expenses. Wendy was a loving mother to her two sons, Eric and Jose, and we want to give her the memorial she deserves to honor her memory and help her children through this incredibly difficult time.
We are asking for your support to help cover Wendy’s funeral costs and the remaining medical bills. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward covering these expenses and providing some relief to her family as they grieve this unimaginable loss.
On behalf of Eric, Jose, and our entire family, we are deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity you’ve shown throughout Wendy’s journey. Your continued support means the world to us as we lay Wendy to rest.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

Hello, we are raising funds on behalf of my nephews, Eric and Jose, for their mother—my sister-in-law—Wendy Hernandez, who is in critical condition in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Wendy is a devoted mother to her two sons and a widow who has endured many challenges. After losing her husband, my brother Eric, she remained a strong and loving presence in her sons' lives. However, Wendy is now facing a medical crisis, and Eric and Jose are terrified of losing their mother.
In July, Wendy had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a blockage in her colon. During this surgery, doctors found a small tumor in her intestine, and part of her colon had to be removed. Unfortunately, the first surgery was not done correctly, leading to serious complications. In late July and early August, Wendy had to undergo a second surgery, including a colostomy, where part of her intestine was connected to her abdomen to pass waste into a colostomy bag.
Since then, Wendy has faced severe complications, including kidney failure and malnutrition, leaving her hospitalized once again. Her condition is extremely fragile, and she will need another surgery in a few months to reconstruct her colon so she can stop using the colostomy bag.
Beyond the medical expenses, my family and I have been helping Wendy with essential medical supplies, like the colostomy bags, which are not cheap. Eric and Jose are struggling to hold on to hope, and as a family, we are doing everything we can to support Wendy, but we are running out of resources. Wendy's medical bills have already exceeded L 233,000 (approximately $9,300 USD), and we are aiming to raise $10,000 to cover her hospital stay, treatments, and upcoming surgeries.
Wendy is being treated in a hospital in San Pedro Sula, where resources are limited, and the facilities reflect the challenges of a third-world country. Despite these obstacles, we are determined to give Wendy every possible chance at survival. But we can’t do it alone.
We are asking for your help to raise $10,000 to ensure Wendy gets the care she desperately needs. Whether you can donate or share this campaign with others, your support will bring hope to Wendy and her two sons during their darkest time.
Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. It means the world to us.
