I work with Orishaba Brian, a volunteer with the Karangara Batwa Indigenous United Organization in Uganda. The Batwa people lived in the forests of Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the rare mountain gorillas. In 1992, as it was declared a National Park and World Heritage Site, so Uganda evicted the Batwa with no compensation, no access to their ancestral home, no source of income, and no support in a very different world from what they had always known.
Orishaba is working to get a home and education for the 204 local orphans of the Batwa. As a part of this, he has been building a small house by hand. That house (above) is nearly complete, but he needs help to seal it off from the malaria-carrying mosquitos. This GoFundMe is to help him buy doors and windows, for educational expenses, and feeding himself and the children.
$500 : Doors
$700 : Windows
$600 : Living expenses (transportation, food, etc)
$800 : Food for Children
$3000 : School Expenses
