Help to Secure a Safe and Supportive Existence for My Child

Thank you for taking the time to review our gofundme and considering donating to help our family regain our freedom from the devastating circumstances that are affecting our lives.

We are in the mist of an arduous custody case initiated by a person who is using the family court system to exert control over us. We have been falsely accused of awful things that have completely distrupted our lives and due to the age of my child, he is unable to advocate for himself in court. This case has caused our family to relocate to the state of Texas, where the case was reopened, while the proceedings are underway. We had leave our careers, which we built for years at home, to be here for my son.

Between legal fees, travel fees, housing, counseling and moving we have borrowed and spent close to $50,000 already and we still have a very long road ahead of us. We need a strong legal defense and to hire educated professionals who are able to advocate for the best interest of this child, within the court system. Even with the income we were earning before we had to leave our home, we would need to borrow in order to defend ourselves against a person who has ample resourses. Unfortunately this is the second time our family has been through this and our funds are limited.

It is very difficult for me to be vulnerable and ask for this kind of support but my child means so much more to me than my pride. He needs to be fought for and liberated from the dysfunctional behavior that is keeping him from his happy home and has caused his world to be torn apart. This is not a simple disagreement between two parents who cannot get along, this is the result of an individual who is choosing actions that are causing a severely negative impact on our child's life and future. The differences between our child's living environment, and nurturing in these environments, are vast. He desperately needs to be and wants to be returned to his home. His future, safety and development is at stake and we are doing everything that we can to secure a reality for him which reflects his needs and that which is in his best interests, but we need help.
