Help Secure Housing for Michelle

I’m Susan Standley, and I’m trying to raise money for my very good friend, Michelle Leisure (Berkey), who is currently experiencing homelessness after a horrible fire on Thursday. Her home is not salvageable, she was renting, and has basically nowhere to go. The Red Cross sent a couple of dollars and put them up in a hotel for one night, her son paid for a hotel through Monday morning. But after that, what’s next? We don’t really know. We’re trying to figure out a way to get them set up at least for a while, but as we all know anything that you’re going to rent needs first and last months rent and a security deposit which they don’t currently have right now.

Michelle has been my very good friend for 20+ years. She’s a wonderful person! Her and I worked together at Mike’s furniture in Joliet for many years, and we became very close. They will climb out of this hole, but it’s not going to be immediately. They just need a hand up.
