I have known Shanda Dawn Thompson for over ten years. My little brother blessed us with her when they started dating so many years ago. Together they have loved and cared for three amazing children, Oliva, Jake and CJ. She went out of her way to bless them with a childhood full of happy memories, full of camping trips, Disney vacations, summer days filled with running through the sprinkler and drawing on the driveway with chalk, nights spent crafting, baking or playing family games, the house is always decorated for the holidays, they participate in annual Christmas house building competitions and so much more….. you name it, she did it for them.

Unfortunately, Shanda was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2018. She has spent the last four years fighting for her life. However, through chemo, radiation, multiple infections, several surgeries, and countless hospital stays, she always remained optimistic. She has a positive, glass-half-full outlook on life. I have never known her to think something won’t work out just fine. She is stronger than she has ever given herself credit for.

Sadly, the cancer metastasized to her lymph nodes, ovaries, bladder, rectum, stomach, and spine. Once it spread to her spine, she lost the ability to walk, her last steps were Christmas 2021. A few weeks ago, she made the brave decision to start hospice. With a heavy heart, it pains me to admit that her time here on earth is coming to an end.

My family and I want to give her the goodbye she both deserves and wants. Unfortunately, we lack the funds to be able to provide her with a proper funeral. She really wants a grave site so that her children can visit her after she is gone. We are asking for your help so that we can grant her last wishes.
