I have an infection in my jaw/tooth that has abscessed. It's super gross, I know.

Back in Feb of 2024, I started getting treatment for the infection and started the pricey process of getting a root canal and the infection taken care of at my dentist, who is wonderful and great about my anxiety and other mental health issues.

Treatment was going pretty well, because of the size of the infection it was slow going, but they were trying to save the tooth.

In March, things went sideways because I went to my parents' house to help provide end-of-life care for my mom; she passed away on April 1, 2024. I went back to work and went back to getting treatment after a break I shouldn't have taken from getting treatment, but grief is weird, and I wasn't thinking straight.

Then I got laid off and lost coverage in June 2 month after my mom passed which wasn't great for my mental health, or physical health really. I scrambled to find a job and took a pay cut, but found something at the end of July / start of Aug; living where I do and I had been using my credit card because oral care is more expensive; than using my card while my mom was dying then the layoff I am in a bit of a rough spot, the infection is still kicking and has gotten worse.

Last night (February 4, 2025), I went to the ER, got 1cc of gross stuff drained, and had a 10-day course of antibiotics.

I see the dentist tomorrow, hoping they can still save the tooth and drain and treat the abscess, put the crown on it, and let me have a payment plan of some kind. If they can save the tooth, it will be the cost of the crown and drainage. If they can't, then I will need an implant, or I will lose the other teeth around the tooth.

On the bright side, it's just the medical expense of this that is going to be the issue; all my other bills are covered just fine at the moment. By that, I mean rent, food, phone, etc. 

So, if you could help get my mouth straightened out, that would be much appreciated; I'll have an idea of the total cost of treatment tomorrow evening (February 6, 2025)
