Donate to Stephanie's Journey to Overcome Mulitple Myeloma

Hi, my name is Stephanie, and I’m reaching out during one of the most challenging times of my life. I'm a mom of 4, and I’ve recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that has turned my world upside down.
Who would have thought someone who would dance for hours or walk my dog for 4 miles every day a month ago now can barely climb a curb to go into a doctor's office?
In mid-December, my doctor noticed the protein in my blood was rising. A few days later, I was rushed to the emergency room in acute kidney failure (a side effect of multiple myeloma). My 100% working kidneys had dropped down to 9%. I was in the hospital for more than a week while they tried to get my calcium levels down and raise my kidney function. That's when all signs pointed to myeloma, and I had to have a bone marrow biopsy and my first dose of chemo. Right now, I'm still sitting at about 20% kidney function. It's very slowly improving.
Hearing the word “cancer” is something I never imagined would happen to me. This journey has been overwhelming, not only emotionally but also physically and financially. As I face this battle, I am determined to fight with everything I have. However, I can’t do it alone.
Why I Need Your Help
Multiple myeloma treatment is intense and includes a combination of chemotherapy, medications, and hopefully very soon, a stem cell transplant. These treatments come with hefty medical bills, even with insurance. On top of that, there are additional costs such as:
Frequent doctor visits and hospital stays
Medications to manage side effects
Travel expenses for specialized care
Lost wages from taking time off work, especially since I'm self-employed.
The financial burden of this diagnosis is enormous, and it’s one I can’t bear alone. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
How You Can Make a Difference
Your support will go directly toward covering the costs of my medical treatment and related expenses, helping me focus on what matters most: beating this disease and regaining my health.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to give, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would mean the world to me.
A Message from My Heart
This has been a humbling experience. I want to live to see my 7-year-old and my 14-year-old grow up. This has shown me the power of community and the kindness of others. Your support gives me hope and strength to keep fighting. I promise to keep you updated on my progress and share this journey with you as I work toward recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a contribution. Your generosity and love mean everything to me.
With gratitude,
