I am Malek Abu Qamar, and I live in Gaza. My family is suffering from genocide and ethnic cleansing. We were forced to leave our homes in the north and move to the south of Gaza, where life is unbearable, living in a small tent amidst insects, extreme heat, and undrinkable water.

In the early months of the war, specifically in the second month on 12/11/2023, my father was martyred in a random bombing of our area. I miss him so much . The financial burdens have become unbearable after my father’s passing, especially in light of the dire conditions left by the war, including the destruction of my home. It may take many years to rebuild it and recover everything we had. The pain intensified when my brother Bara’a was also martyred in an artillery bombardment by the occupation forces during their invasion of Al-Bureij camp in central Gaza on 29/6/2024. (The occupation forced us to move to this area, and then they invaded it.) The wounds and suffering deepen every day as we witness and hear more tragedies.

I had a dream to study computer engineering since I was a child. My father spent a lot to help me reach my dream, and when it started to come true, I completed two out of five years of study, but everything vanished in the war when they bombed my university.

I am writing this message after more than eight months of bombing, destruction, starvation, and genocide that we have endured. I am reaching out to my fellow humans who wish to help those deprived of a life they do not deserve, to get a chance to survive and escape the horrific conditions of war and conflict. This is not just a call for help; it is a plea for collective empathy and solidarity. Living in constant fear and uncertainty, not knowing if you will survive the next day, is a burden no one should bear. Imagine losing everything you have in life—your home, your family, your city, your livelihood, your people. This is the reality for me and my family. Our dreams have been shattered, but hope remains with your help.
