Donate to Support Baby Aria and the Kindler Family

I wanted to share an opportunity to extend love and support to my sister Rachel, brother-in-law Chase, and nephew Liam during a challenging time for their family. Rachel is a part-time elementary school teacher, Chase works full time in the construction industry, and their son Liam will be 3 in August.

They are expecting a baby girl, Aria, in early March! At their 20 week anatomy scan, the doctors discovered a complex congenital heart defect. She has an unbalanced right ventricular dominant AV canal defect with DORV, heterotaxy, D-malposed great arteries, an interrupted IVC, and other issues. She will need 2-3 open heart surgeries within the first year/years of her life to repair her heart (biventricular repair) or to convert her heart into a single ventricle heart. So much is unknown until Aria is delivered.

The Kindlers will be moving to Cincinnati at the end of this month for the delivery and CICU stay for baby Aria, which could last weeks to months depending on how she responds. We are asking you to prayerfully consider donating to support them during this time. They will be paying medical bills including >$30,000 out of pocket (with much room for variability given potential “out of network” services and providers along the way) as well as covering food & housing in Cincinnati + their regular monthly bills. Unfortunately, both parents will not be receiving compensation for time off work during this time.
