Courtney Enyart's Memorial and Gymnastics Scholarship

Donation protected
We, Danielle Manriquez and Kayla Decker, come to you today with very heavy, sorrowful hearts.
On June 28, 2024, our daughter/sister, Courtney (Hopper) Enyart, was severely injured in a car accident. She had multiple broken bones, multiple complicated skull fractures, and a diffused anoxic traumatic brain injury (severe DAI). Despite all of her injuries, for 64 days, she had been fighting hard! Fighting to get back to her children and her husband. She was determined to survive and making daily progress in the last weeks! We knew that her fight was going to take a very long time, but we were going to be with her every step of the way.

Courtney spent 8 long weeks at Fort Wayne Lutheran hospital and, to our delight, was accepted to RHI (Rehabilitation TBI Hospital of Indiana) in Indianapolis, Aug 22nd. She was progressing in multiple ways every day! Although we had many pictures, videos and stories to tell and update in posts, we just hadn’t yet had time to Stop and do so. However, we do plan to go back and share more of her story going forward as we use her page to spread awareness and encouragement for others facing similar things. We were so excited to share in her continued triumphs, and we had hope of a beautiful future with her. God says to prepare for what you’re praying for and we were doing just that! We were Faithful God was bringing her back to the life he intended for her. Painfully, the last 2 weeks and our future going forward look much different.
On August 31st, Courtney left this world from aspirating reflux from her tube feeding and was found with no pulse. We are still unaware of so many details and have countless unanswered questions because this was preventable. She truly should still be here continuing to improve.

That fact made it such a tragic surprise for Kayla to receive that call after her and I had just gotten off the phone detailing the next day.
We were excited as Courtney's children and husband, dad and stepmother, stepfather Robin Manriquez, and us (Kayla, Jackson, and myself) were going to visit her the next day. Jackson planned to give the kids a tour of RHI, show them the cafeteria and the 2 therapy gyms, as well as teaching them to push her in the wheelchair and congratulate them for “passing” by giving them handmade “wheelchair driver license” to both kids, show them how she had been drinking water by mouth in small amounts-and much more!
Less than 5 minutes after our call Robin received a warning text from Kayla to get beside me and hold my hand before she called and had to give me the horrible news that no parent ever wants to hear.

So many of you, our friends and family, have been reaching out to help us through this as Courtney was very young and without life insurance or a plan for final expenses. We created this GoFundMe so that you can and we are so, so grateful!

Any money raised will go to offset her funeral expenses, possible burial in the cemetery her son is currently buried, and other funds raised is going to set up a recurring yearly gymnastics tuition scholarship fund in Courtney's name. The new gym is going to be located on East 8th street in Peru, IN, by Courtney’s childhood gymnastics coach, Darla. Courtney was very excited last spring when Darla asked her if she would be a new coach at the gym and help her when the new gym opened. She loved teaching her children new gymnastics skills and was so proud of their accomplishments. They even kept a large tumble mat in the living room year round! The funds raised for the scholarship will pay for the fees for a child/children to participate for the season that would not afford to be able to do so otherwise. We hope with your continued support we will be able to help as many as we can yearly, and in the process help the gym build and grow in the community! We know how much it meant to Courtney for her children to be active and in the things they loved and was there cheering them on, so we hope this will be a great way to honor her memory each year.
We will be planning future fundraising events for it as well, so be watching for that in the coming months on the Team Courtney FB page. ‍♂️‍♀️
Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support during and through this time.
