In NYC for this year's National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation (NDP) on October 22nd, we will begin from downtown Manhattan and travel to join Newark's NDP action. The NYC organizers appreciate any support to cover expenses, including transportation for Fists Across the Hudson, outreach materials, signs, and banners - no amount is too small! If you can donate Metrocards and/or art materials, or help with printing, please contact [email redacted].

The October 22 Coalition to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation was formed in 1996 out of conversations among concerned organizers across the country. The conversations centered on the need to meet the intensifying nationwide epidemic of police brutality with resistance on the national level. These activists and the organizations they represented became the National Coordinating Committee and called for a National Day of Protest against police brutality to take place annually on October 22nd.

Fists Across the Hudson is part of our overall campaign for Fists Across America, signaling the revitalization of the October 22 Coalition. Germane to this effort is kicking off the building of an Emergency Response Network to meet the escalating and genocidal patterns of brutal police violence against the people and of mass incarceration and state repression. See the Call for this year's NDP and visit our website (october22.org) to see our updated Mission Statement and other actions around the country as well as resources for organizing an action.
