Donate to the family of drowned victim Omer Buz

There have been some question about the legitimacy of this gofundme. My name is Nadia Fayad and I am a family friend and member of the community. I have been side by side with the family and they are completely and utterly devastated. We are trying to help them cope with the loss of their youngest son Omer. The local news stations and OPP have also reached out to confirm the legitimacy of this gofundme. The money collected will be provided to help this broken family bring their daughter home from turkey and to try and rebuild what they can. Please reach out if you have any further questions.

What started out as a beautiful family outing to the beach of Port Stanley on Sunday July 14th ended in tragedy for a young immigrant family new to the London area. Lami Buz was swimming with his (2) sons Mohammad and Omer when the waves got rough and pulled the family under. Lifeguards were able to successfully rescue the Father, Lami Buz and son Mohammad Buz. Unfortunately, 14 year old Omer got pulled under and has yet to be located.

OPP Air, Water and Ground search teams have been working around the clock to try and find Omer.

At 3pm today the family was advised this afternoon Omer has been recovered and the family is asking for privacy during this difficult time.

The family is completely devastated and shattered. As new refugees to London the family has very little and now with the loss of their son, things are unbearable.

The Buz family has a daughter living in Turkey that is desperately trying to get to Canada to be with her family during this devastating time. We are asking the community to help with anything possible to help ease the financial burden and also any travel costs associated with bringing their daughter home.
