STUDIO & DJ EQUIPMENT FOR A TECHNO COLLECTIVE

Hello there, my name is Richard Odoi, a Kampala-based pioneering DJ, Producer & promoter of the Ugandan underground techno scene.
Underground Kampala is a collective of various creatives and partygoers forming a community of mutual interests. The organization was started in 2020 as a multiple-location rave in obscure regions of Kampala, creating an inclusive community that catered to people interested in techno music & culture. By 2022, the rave community had a capacity of about 660 individuals.
At this time, the societal attitudes about people with interests in techno raves were perceived with skepticism, and hence there was little from the society.
With multiple raves, the attitudes and perceptions began to shift towards appreciating the techno rave nights, and more support was acquired from close friends and well-wishers in the society. The community is run on non-discrimination, non-racism, non-sexual intimidation, and non-aggression, among other strong values.
For the objective of providing quality & safe raves, the organization has about ten collectives, about five volunteers, and over three network congregations to cater to the collaborations overseas.
In recent years, more individuals with interests in techno culture have continued to approach the organization seeking production & Dj skills, but it has not been possible. Due to limited equipment, expanding the internal facilities and utilities with the essential learning & performing development amenities has been challenging.
Among the reported setbacks that have masked the collective's relevance in its services include a lack of studio & DJ equipment to facilitate the artists' performance.
Where the collective fails to provide quality programs & skills with appropriate equipment and technology that would enhance the growing event community.
With the prevailing financial turnover setbacks, sustaining the needs may be difficult. Currently, the organization exists as an individual unit running monthly raves.
The solution to these significant problems lies in the ability of the collective to establish an oversight to assess the needed equipment towards meeting the skills development of the artists & the people served.
On the other hand, the acquisition would occur if the collective purchased studio & DJ equipment; the joint would acquire these resources to facilitate the smooth running of the events. As a result, the cooperative would expand its influence across East Africa with more events and subsequently concentrate its services on a large scale to its target population. In this regard, we kindly ask you to DONATE to the cause for us to be able to provide.
