Help Us Support Those in Need at Our Sober Living Home in West Hollywood

My name is James McKinney, and I manage a sober living home in West Hollywood, California. I’m reaching out to our community for support in helping the individuals who come through our doors seeking a fresh start and a new chance at life. Since my own sobriety began on January 8, 2023, I have dedicated myself to providing a safe, supportive environment for those on their journey to recovery from addiction. This is not just a job for me; it’s my passion and my calling.

Our sober living home provides a critical space for people in drug and alcohol recovery programs, but the needs of our residents often go beyond the basics we can offer. Many of our clients arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs, and the journey to recovery requires more than just a roof over their heads. They often need essentials like food, clothing, and personal hygiene products, which are crucial for restoring their sense of dignity and self-worth as they work toward a healthier, sober life.

One of the biggest challenges we face is the lack of resources to provide transportation for our residents to attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings. These meetings are a vital part of their recovery process, offering them a network of support and accountability that is critical in their path to sobriety. Unfortunately, due to limited funds, I am currently unable to meet this need, which significantly impacts their chances of a successful recovery.

I want to assure all potential donors that I am fully committed to being financially responsible and transparent with the funds we receive. Every dollar will go directly to meeting the spontaneous needs of our residents and improving their chances of staying sober. Although I don’t own the sober living home, I am provided with a room to stay, and my sole purpose here is to serve my residents with everything I have.

My desire is to give each individual who walks through our doors the best possible chance to reclaim their lives from addiction. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a tangible difference in the lives of those who are struggling to find their way back to health, hope, and happiness.
