Donate to Trays-to-Tummies: Fight Hunger

Tax deductible
Hey there!

Despite being one of the wealthiest nations in the world, the United States faces a paradox of significant food insecurity and waste. Over 34 million Americans, including 9 million children, experience food insecurity, struggling to access enough nutritious food to maintain a healthy lifestyle. At the same time, approximately 119 billion pounds of food—nearly 40% of the total food supply—is wasted annually in the U.S., equating to $408 billion in economic losses. This wasted food could provide sustenance to millions of individuals experiencing hunger, yet it often ends up in landfills, contributing to environmental issues like methane emissions. Addressing this dual crisis requires innovative strategies to reduce waste, redistribute surplus food, and improve food access for vulnerable populations.

Trays-to-Tummies is a student-led initiative that seeks to reduce wastage and hunger by repurposing otherwise wasted food to provide supplements to students that may benefit from it. Currently, we are operating in Frisco having donated approximately 2.5k food items to surrounding local non-profits including the Frisco Food Pantry and Hanuman Temple.

As an organization, we hope to expand our battle against food hunger and wastage by raising $2,000 for the North Texas Food Bank.

Please feel free to donate any amount that you're comfortable with (even $1 is enough to change someone's life). All donations are secure and are directly donated to the North Texas Food Bank.

Your help and support will always be appreciated!

Thank you.
