Donating for Kidney Research.
I will be doing the Wolf Run is June 2023 in aid of Kidney Research UK and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this as this means a lot to me.
My son, Jude, was hospitalised when he was only 10 days old due to having Sepsis and kidney problems. Later on, we found out that he only had one kidney and he has Grade 5 VUR and Hydronephrosis.
From August 2022 - December 2022, Jude had numerous visits to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and many turned into admissions. He was extremely poorly and was experiencing life threatening infections at such a young age. Whilst fighting his kidney battle, he has had Sepsis on two occasions, Pseudomonas, kidney infections amongst lots of threatening urinary tract infections.
Jude had surgery at the end of January 2023, however they found a new problem which is a blockage in his Ureter (the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder) and he had to undergo open surgery on his kidney and bladder in March.
On the 23rd May 2023, we met with his consultant to see if his last operation had helped. It gives us great pleasure to let you all know that his kidney is starting to function well again.
It would mean the world if you could support me so we can help other children and adults who are going through kidney problems, get better like our son has.
