Donation for Oliver Todd’s medical expenses

My sister Lindsay and brother in law Ben had Oliver Todd Clifford on June 28th, 2022. Poor Oliver hasn’t had the easiest first 7 weeks of life and I as his aunt, and Lindsay’s sister, want to help support this family in any way l can. Please read the story below and chose to help out in any way you feel fit.

Two weeks ago today, while changing Oliver, they noticed that his right arm had gone limp, showing no signs of mobility. Concerned by this, they took him to the ER immediately that evening. The ER doctor was unsure of what to diagnose as they had not seen an infant this little present these symptoms before. The next day they went to their PCP and immediately got referred to Sioux Falls, SD to see specialists for further testing.

Since he was admitted last Tuesday(8/9), Oliver has been diagnosed with GBS infection in his blood, both shoulder joints and part of his right humerus bone. Since being in Sioux Falls he has seen multiple specialists, had 3 MRIs, multiple X-rays, been poked and prodded multiple times a day for blood work, cultures, IV antibiotics, spinal tap and has undergone surgery to drain the infection in his shoulders that was causing the immobility. Though his progression seemed hopeful, yesterday they noticed that his arm’s mobility has once again decreased and during blood work, the infection disease doctor informed Lindsay and Ben that Oliver’s CRP (inflammation marker), platelets and a few other levels had increased again. The doctor believes Oliver might have an abscess now in the bone of his right arm, meaning he will need another MRI and another procedure to drain the abscess if this is in fact the case.

Not only does that mean more days spent in a hospital 2 hours away from their home, more time, miles and fuel for Ben getting to and from work, but also more of an overall financial burden to bear. If you would consider donating a little something to help this family out during this difficult time, we know they would be extremely grateful. If you know Lindsay and Ben, you know they hate to ask for help.. but they could really use it right now. Thank you so much!
