For funeral expenses, my loving Dad, Didier Chèhu

On January 1, 2023, I received a heart-wrenching phone call from my brother, that my father had unexpectedly passed away from an unforeseen medical issue in his home in Paris, France.
Didier CHEHU, was my father, my soulmate, and my best friend. He was everything that my brother (Steven) and I (Candy) could have ever expected. My mother (Kim Phuong) and my dad had a happy and hard time together, but no matter what happened, they were always there for one another. Two soulmates that were meant to be together. My parents built our strong and forever family. We are never prepared enough to lose a parent, especially when there is still much life to live. He was the grandfather of my four children at the young age of 52 (Jayden, Blessing, Kayla, Jazlyn). My father's wish was to one day walk me to the church for my wedding and get to meet a young version of myself. My children were unable to meet him, enjoy his company, give him a hug, or express their love for him. But I'm confident that my father will soon meet my son (Jayden) in paradise.
My father was such a kind and loving man. Even though life was not easy on him, he always encouraged him to strive to be the greatest man he could be. He brought hope, guidance, and support to everyone he encountered. His laugh was so contagious! I remember when he used to travel for work, he always made sure to provide food to a homeless man who had lived under a freeway bridge for years. All he ever wanted was to make sure our family never missed of anything. He was so sociable and active.
In order to see and kiss the first and last time our grandfather, father-in-law, and father, we had arranged a trip from the United States to France. He was a devout man who believed in God. I, along with my family, will honor his decision and lay him to rest next to his mother (Mamie bijoux), his father (Papi), and his brother (Jean-Marc).
Although I don't dwell on regrets, I can’t help but desperately wish I had one more conversation with him, to tell him I love him and that he meant the world to me.
His favorite quote was:
“Live life like there's no tomorrow”
Thank you for hearing my dad’s story.
