Christine Sorensen Irvine Family Donations

My name is Kathryn and I am the daughter of Christine Sorensen Irvine. I have created this fund raiser in order to raise funds for the moving expenses, care and support of my brother Michael Sorensen. As many of you know, my mother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Friday 1/27/23. My mother was the sole financial provider and care taker of my 40 year old autistic brother Michael who is unable to live independently on his own or fully provide financially for himself. There were no contingency plans put in place regarding what would happen with Michael’s care and living situation should anything happen to my mother Christine. At the current time the plan is for Michael to return Houston, TX with me where almost all of our remaining immediate family members reside. This would make the most sense and would also provide a support system. Once the personal belongings are shipped and we return to Houston we will need to figure out a space for Michael to have with regards to his living situation. There are ongoing talks about what options we have and what that may look like. Some possibilities discussed include renovating or purchasing. At this time we have to explore all options while also taking our budget and finances into consideration of what is feasible at this time and with short notice. Funds raised from this fundraiser will be managed and allocated to pay for moving expenses from Pearl City, HI to Houston, TX, housing and living expenses for my brother Michael. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are doing the very best we can to figure things out as we go while grieving the loss of our mother. This has been a very difficult time for us all and especially hard on my brother Michael. He is having a very hard time with this loss and with the uncertainty over his future and what’s to come. Our lives have been completely rocked and shaken to the core and our lives are forever changed now that our mother is gone. She was the matriarch and the rock of our family. She was the one person in the world who unconditionally loved her children. Michael says he misses moms great big all encompassing hugs the most and the assurance that everything will be okay. He says no one will ever love or understand him as much as mom did. As we move forward without her it is literally the hardest thing we have ever had to do in our lives. We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers during this time and we thank you for all of the love, thoughts, prayers and messages of support we have received. Thank you all.
