Donations for Hinkle and Mountain colleagues

Eastern Kentucky was ravaged by record flooding on July 27, 2022. Flood waters reached far outside what is considered the flood plain, and 38 people lost their lives in the flooding. As a result, a federal disaster declaration was made for eastern Kentucky on July 29, 2022.
Several Mountain Companies and Hinkle Contracting employees suffered significant property damage during the flooding. Eight employees had a complete loss of their homes, along with almost everything inside. An additional nine employees had substantial amounts of property damage. There has been some response from FEMA, but the amounts they offered are far less than our employees’ needs. Some had insurance, but the payments (if any) provided so far have also failed to come close to the amount it will take to repair the damage and replace lost items.
Many of our employees and local operating companies have helped with flood relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas and have seen the damage firsthand. Eastern Kentucky is full of tight-knit communities where people quickly reach out to one another and help those in need. I want to personally thank all of the Hinkle and Mountain employees who have been involved in flood relief efforts.
Concerned employees from across the Appalachian Materials Group and other companies in CRH have asked about flood relief contributions that would be used to help our employees directly impacted by the flood. To collect monetary donations that will be used to provide disaster to these employees, we have set up a GoFundMe site for this specific need. Ben Sevald, President of Mountain Companies, will be responsible for the associated account. All disbursements to impacted employees will be made after approval and review by Ben Sevald, Willie Crane, AMR President, and Steven Lee, President of Hinkle Contracting.
