Bernard Marfo Atta Funeral & Memorial
Donation protected
On May 17, 2020 our father lost his battle with COVID-19 after only 9 days.
He leaves behind his wife, 4 children, and 2 grandchildren in the Columbus, Ohio area, in addition to countless relatives in Ghana who counted on him, including his 99-year-old mother.
It was only on Saturday, May 9, my 61-year-old father tested positive with coronavirus. He contracted the virus while working as a nurse at the ODRC correctional facility in Orient, OH. Bernard had no underlying conditions that we know of.
We are utterly shocked. We are utterly speechless. We are seeking strength from God.
All donations will go toward the funeral and end of life costs.
Due to the current restrictions and extenuating circumstances, the funeral is to be determined.

A message from Kojoh Atta:
We're supposed to be looking for caps and gowns.
We're supposed to see my father's proud face at Stanford University's graduation as the first in my family to receive a 4-year college degree.
Now we are looking for caskets...
The next 9-18 months of life will be difficult, strange, and painful for us all until a vaccine is safely tested and distributed across the globe.
COVID-19 does not care who you vote for, who you pray to, or what zip code you live in. COVID-19 infects, disrupts, and destroys lives indiscriminately. If proactive precautions are not taken, it is unfortunately not a question of if, but when COVID-19 devastates someone close to you. Please take care.
(These times are difficult for everyone. There is no obligation to donate. A simple prayer and share are all I ask.)
