Cory Wick's Fight For Life
Donation protected
I am starting this for my father Cory he is a husband and a father he is a true definition of a selfless man. He was a hard worker and gave everything at all times. In early November 2019 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that was diagnosed to be a very aggressive cancer called Glioblastoma. This is one of the most deadly brain cancers you can get.
This was a shock to him because he has never had any health issues like this of any kind. Cory had brain surgery in December 2019 and found out this was a freak genetic tumor that is vary rare for someone his age. To add more stress to this situation he had recently moved and took a new job in plans of buying his wife and him a new home. However because the time frame he was coming up on his one year mark to be eligible for the FLMA program. He was notified by a phone call after his surgery one week before his one year mark that he will be let go. This made it impossible for him to access his benefits and medical costs became extremely expensive.
Cory has been through radiation treatment and chemo with extra medical devices that interrupt cell division to try and kill all the cancer cells. Due to this he was unable to afford living for his wife and himself. This in turn made the plans of buying a new home also impossible. He has been forced to retire and is deemed disabled. He cannot do what he loves to do anymore. Cory loved to be active and always moving. He loved to cook meals and was always a great host in every occasion.
In May 2020 he was informed that he needed to have another surgery to remove a new mass from his brain. He has never become down about the situation and always tells me how he just wants it to done and "back to normal". He has never given up no matter what the news is and always gives it his all in every task.
He is a man I look up to and only hope that one day I can be just as humble, genuine, good hearted, and patient as he is!! I am proud to call him my father and thank God for him everyday.
Thank you for taking the time to read Cory's story and ANY donations are a blessing... God bless to you all!!
