Donations for Jon Powell & Family
Donation protected
Our Friend, and classmate Jon Powell was involved in a serious car accident late Friday night on the 20th of September. He was immediately transported to Comanche county ER, and then to OU medical center in Norman. The past 3-4 days have been extremely hard. Jon suffered several severe injuries...fractured skull in several places, fractured pelvis in 3 places, broken ribs, ruptured diaphragm, multiple facial fractures, etc. He has been unconscious since he arrived, and on a ventilator. Due to his critical conditions, they have been able to perform surgery to repair some of the skull and implanted plates, but have not been able to perform any operations to repair his pelvis and diaphragm at this time. The past few days have been really touch and go as they discover new injuries and try to asses the next steps that need to be taken.
His parents, Rita and Marty Powell have been by his side at the hospital since the accident happened. They have little to no monthly monetary income, and are both fully disabled. They currently have no transportation as Jon was the only source they had. They are depending on family to take them back and forth to Norman and bring them necessities as needed. Needless to say they could really use some help right now in any form that you feel compelled to give. Any amount is helpful. If you are not able to donate monetarily, please find it in your heart to say a prayer for Jon and his family.
