Donations for Medical Expenses: Kyle Johnson

On November 6, Kyle woke up with pain in his head and symptoms for a stroke. His wife, Sarah called 911 immediately as she saw his face droop and his arm going numb. He was found to have a large embolic stroke involving both sides of the cerebellum. Unfortunately, within 24 hours, he developed significant swelling at the base of the brain and required emergent brain surgery to decompress the area and save his life. While the surgery went as well as it could have and is finally off the ventilator, he has a really long recovery ahead trying to gain back as much function as he can. He is still in ICU at Research here in KC. The surgeon, doctors and nurses have been incredible with his care!

Kyle is a 35 year old father of two little boys, 9 & 4. Anyone that knows him, knows how big his heart is, how kind he is and what a hard working man he was. Just an all around good guy! He deeply loves his family and is such a great dad, husband, son,& brother. This has just been gut wrenching for all of us! We help each other as we can but can only do so much. His insurance had just lapsed on 10/31.

We are working to see what the next steps are, but we do know that it's going to be a very long process and we will be working eventually once he gets more stable to get him into a rehab facility for brain trauma. The expenses are going to overwhelming for the family and know they will need help financially. I'm sorry we haven't reached out earlier direct to family and friends, but it's been hard to find the words to talk!
