South Stoke Wildlife & Conservation Group

A group of enthusiastic South Stokers got together to form the South Stoke Wildlife & Conservation Group (SSWCG) in Feb 2021.

Our aim is to confirm what wildlife there is in the area, record it, map it, and then help protect, enhance and conserve it. We also hope to improve the management of some areas, maintain and enhance biodiversity, and create new habitats for wildlife where possible.

In 2021 we organised surveys, walks and planting sessions, and have lots of activities planned for 2022.

Why are we collecting donations?

We want to continue to offer opportunities for everybody in the parish to be part of - with lots of fun and learning along the way! To do this, we need some money to support events (e.g. May Fayre, Pub Quiz) and buy supplies (e.g. wood for bee/bird boxes, hedging for restoration, wildflower seeds, craft supplies).

We’re proud of our wonderful parish and its natural environment and want it to be protected and improved! Your donations will help us do that, thank you.

Why is Mark Taylor our beneficiary?

Mark is the SSWCG treasurer, looking after all the pennies for us. Don't worry, he's still with us .
