Donations for the Lee Family
On Wednesday October 10th my father Thomas Lee woke up, got my younger brother and 13 year old sister up, fed them, and then took my sister to school. He told them both he loved them and would see them later. They all made plans for dinner.
They never got to get dinner together.
On October 10th around 9am my father was struck by a young driver; totaling his truck, breaking his hip, and tearing apart his spleen resulting in hemorrhaging of the abdomen. He required a stint in his knee, and was put on a ventilator to breathe. He has had two surgeries since.
My father is now on dialysis twice a day for up to 6 hours, he is on a feeding tube, has had a tracheostomy along with still being on the ventilator, and he has been unconscious since entering the hospital.
He has been unconscious for over two weeks now. He hasn't spoken in over two weeks. He hasn't breathed on his own in over two weeks. He hasn't done anything in two weeks.
At 20 years old I've been taking care of my younger brother and 13 year old sister, trying to provide the support system they need while also trying to figure out all the paperwork and insurance matters.
Doctor's have finally told me my father's health is ultimately failing. He is on as much life support as they can give and unfortunately it isn't enough.
As much as it pains me and hurts me to even think about, it's time for me to start trying to get things in order.
Due to preexisting conditions my father does not have life insurance.
I'm trying to collect money to help go towards his medical bills, the bills he may leave behind (power, house payment, etc,) and a proper memorial if needed.
Donations will also go towards helping me provide for my little sister (pay her phone bill so she can talk to her friends and family when needed to help her get through this, hygiene products, clothes if needed, and to feed her.)
Anything helps and all donations are appreciated.
