Donations Needed in Memory of Frederick Mork

Dearest Friends & Family- we increased our fundraising goal to $4,000 by request of others wanting to help Michele Mork and her family- we are forever grateful! Thank you all who have expressed their support!

Frederick Martin Mork departed for better fishing grounds on Monday, November 27, 2023 in Sitka, Alaska, at the age of 68. While his health had deteriorated over the last year, he was far too young for us to say goodbye and his family did not expect to lose him so quickly.

His wife Michele needs the support of family and friends to help with covering the cost of burial expenses and other expenses, and I know we all can help relieve her of this burden.

In the true ways of his hometown Pelican, Fred believed in always taking care of each other and I know we can help her if we stand together. He was a beloved father, husband, friend to so many, and fisherman through and through. For all who knew him, he was a kind and caring soul and touched the lives of many, some who he hadn’t seen in years, but he always believed no matter how much time had passed, love is never erased or forgotten.

A Celebration of Life service for Frederick Martin Mork will be held at 3 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at the Sheet'ka Kwaán Naa Kahidi in Sitka, Alaska. His family invites all friends and family to bring a dish and to come and share stories of Fred. Plans to bring his ashes home to Pelican and to hold a service in his hometown will be held in the summer of 2024 at a later date to be announced.
