(Please bear with me, as this page will be updated as I receive more information from his immediate family in North Carolina)
Yesterday, October 14, 2016 John Kirby was called home to the Lord in Durham, North Carolina.
John leaves behind his wife - Linda, his children - Alexandria, Carl, Darian, Cody, Victoria, grandchildren - Elaina, Anthony and Emilyn
John also leaves behind his mother - Sheryl, two sisters - Whitney and Jeanie and a whole village of extended family in Bristol Bay and southcentral Alaska.
John Kirby was a man who deeply loved his family. Whether you were his immediate family, his extended family, his work family, his church family, or the neighborhood family you were loved and respected by this man.
Funds are needed to be raised as soon as possible.
The donations received by this GoFundMe page will be used directly to offset the cost of John's funeral expenses.
John's children wish him to be buried in his favorite place this side of heaven - Togiak, Alaska. For those of you who do not know where or what Togiak is: Togiak is a small village of [phone redacted] residents in southwest Alaska. The only way in and out of Togiak is airplane. The cost of living is outrageously high because food and supplies are flown in.
For 10-15 years John and Linda raised their older kids in Togiak and lived off the land - hunting and fishing. If you would like more information about Togiak and the Kirby's life there, please feel free to ask. For the sake of keeping this page short, I leave it short.
If you are not able to give financially, please pray for the Kirby family as they are grieving for their husband/father/grandfather and have to learn to continue to live life without him.
