Donna and David Figuerado
Donation protected
UPDATE: On August 20,2023 at 4:30 PM, surrounded by loads and loads of family and friends, Donna crossed over to be with her mother and father whom she missed dearly. She went peacefully and is no longer suffering or in any pain. So I guess you could say, cancer didn’t win, she did. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
As many of you know, Donna was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer in December of 2021 and started her fight almost immediately. Donna is the most amazing and selfless woman many of you have ever met and a lot of you know her for her neverending love for animals. She and David have 3 daughters together and have been married for 48 years. They are the joy of their lives, along with their 3 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter.
Small Cell Lung Cancer is a very aggressive cancer that metastasizes very quickly to other parts of the body. Things were looking up and were staying dormant until a scan in late June of 2023 showed that it had reached her brain. She still refused to give up and continued with full brain radiation. She slowly started to lose sense of herself and her family but still would not give up.
In August of 2023, Donna traveled to Canandaguia with her girls and granddaughter to see the concert that has always been on her bucket list, and that was the last check we had to complete for her! We had finished it all.
Day after day, we had all slowly noticed she began to decline quicker and quicker until this week when she was admitted with COVID and we were informed that the cancer had now infiltrated her stomach and her liver. At which point Donna had stated that she was just tired and couldn't keep fighting.
This is the most difficult thing that our family has ever had to face because if you know the Figuerados, you know that we are an EXTREMELY tight-knit family and losing someone so close will never be easy.
To help David, who is losing not only the love of his life but, his companion and his best friend since he was 20, please help us make him comfortable with this as well, as we help him navigate this awful time. Any donations will help with funeral and medical expenses, as David is on a fixed income and does not have money saved in anticipation of this.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
