Donna Lockwood--My Superhero

My name is Larry Lockwood, and I am posting this on behalf of my best friend, partner, and person who lifted and saved me from myself. She is the kindest, most compassionate, and most loving person I know, and I am so proud that Donna Lockwood is my beautiful wife.
She is not only my wife for these past 11 years, but she is also my superhero. Through her, God gives me the strength and courage to rise every day and appreciate the joy and beauty of life no matter what challenges lie ahead.
We have been blessed with four wonderful grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter, who are essential to our lives, and their Nana is also a significant part of their young lives. We dream of watching them grow up and see what they can achieve.
Unfortunately, it is with great sorrow that my superhero has found her kryptonite in the form of breast cancer, ductile carcinoma HERS2+, which is a very aggressive form of cancer.
Donna was diagnosed in July this year and is undergoing chemotherapy with major surgery in a few months. Her strength is depleted more each day, and it saddens me that all I can do is give her my love, prayers and moral support while doing my best to take care of her.
It is not just the physical damage this disease causes; the mental and emotional harm is severe and can be overwhelming, affecting the body's ability to fight and heal. Donna was told to avoid stress, and I do my best to help with that, but there are some things I cannot hide, especially our financial situation.
I know that many of you have experienced this firsthand in one way or another, through personal experience, family members or friends, which leads me to why I am writing this post.
What I am going to ask is hard, but we have exhausted all other resources. Insurance does not cover much of the cost, and nothing on the necessary reconstructive surgery. These treatments are costly, not to mention over-the-counter drugs, special dietary supplements and the travel costs involved with all the medical appointments. I am trying to raise $25000 through gofundme to help with these expenses.
Donna had already fought off another illness before this, but it did enough damage so she was forced to retire early. I am also retired, which means we have limited income. I have worked part-time jobs, but now I have to be at home most of the time for obvious reasons.
Times are tough for everybody right now, which makes this task even harder, but any amount of money you can spare or, if nothing else, your prayers. Both would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you could please forward this to others and ask them to do the same, it would be greatly appreciated. With God's help and the kindness of others, Donna can and will beat this disease.
I want to thank everyone that reads this, whether you participate or not, ahead of time, and may God Bless all.
