Donna Marie, A Dedicated Healthcare Worker Battling Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Bec, President of the Phlebotomists Council of Australia, and I am reaching out to our healthcare community to support one of our own.
Donna Marie is an overnight phlebotomist at Gold Coast Private Hospital in Queensland. She lives with her daughter Natalie, Natalie's two young children, and has recently taken on caring responsibilities for her youngest grandchild, a 6-month-old.
During this already challenging time, Donna has been diagnosed with complex cancer and has had to stop work immediately to undergo further testing and treatment.
We know many people have asked how best to support Donna through this difficult time. We kindly request any donation, no matter how small, to help ease the financial burden so Donna can focus on her treatment and recovery. As a casual worker, Donna’s immediate lack of funds is a pressing concern, and while her role will be held for her upon recovery, the financial strain is significant.
For someone whose career is dedicated to caring for the health and wellbeing of others, it is heartbreaking that Donna now faces financial worries in addition to her health battle.
As a community of healthcare professionals and compassionate individuals, let’s come together to show Donna that she is not alone in this fight. Your generosity and support can make a tremendous difference in her journey to recovery.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
