Donna Marie Davis-Russell
Aug 13, 1967-Jan 11, 2022
Steadfast daughter, devoted sister, faithful wife, loving and loyal friend, and a mother to many. The world is a better place because she lived.
Our precious friend, Donna Marie Davis-Russell, died with covid January of 2022. Those close to her are raising funds to help purchase her memorial stone.
Anyone who spent even a few minutes with Donna knew how much she loved Jesus. She was a devoted follower of Christ who consistently served Him and loved others until the day she went into the hospital. Prayer and ministry were a part of everything Donna did, whether that meant loving and praying for others at school or work, in relationships, or on her many mission trips. Love, prayer, and compassion came as easily and consistently to Donna as brushing her own teeth.
Donna was an amazing human being. She worked two jobs all the way through college at Troy University in Troy, AL, earning a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations. She was an executive producer for the Christian Broadcasting Network and one of CBN’s first major hires. Donna’s ability to see beauty in others fueled her love for Mary Kay Cosmetics, earning for herself a Mary Kay Directorship and a Chevy Malibu. Donna’s personal motto in running her Mary Kay business was “lead with love,” and she did. Donna was even a cancer survivor, beating uterine cancer in her mid forties. Donna was a hard worker and a courageous fighter. Watching Donna battle for her life the last time she was in the hospital was obviously heartbreaking but also awe-inspiring. She was one of the bravest people we’ve ever known.
As hard-working and busy as Donna always was, even as physically sick as she sometimes was, her friends knew that she loved them. No matter her circumstances, Donna always made time for her friends through visits, phone calls, texts, small “I’m-thinking-of-you” gifts, and prayer. We always knew she was praying for us, and that woman meant business when she prayed! If you were Donna’s friend, you knew you were faithfully loved.
Pink was Donna’s favorite “signature color.” She almost always wore pink, and she always looked beautiful in it. Of course, Donna’s favorite *shade* of pink was “Mary Kay Pink.” For these reasons, her friends would like her memorial stone to be as close to the color “Mary Kay Pink” as possible. Her life verse was Jeremiah 33:3, and the verse we prayed over her in the hospital was Romans 8:11. For these reasons, we would also like to have those two verses carved on her stone as well.
Will you please consider donating toward our goal of $4900? Every cent of your donation will go to Donna’s memorial stone. No gift is too small, and all are appreciated. Thank you all very much.
