Donna McAvoy

Our sister and cousin Donna McAvoy has had her world turned upside down. Donna was undergoing a routine mammogram when she received the news no one expects to hear. She had a lump that needed further testing. On September 8th, the diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma or in plain terms Breast Cancer was delivered. Donna had surgery on September 17th to remove the tumor. She will undergo some form of radiation treatment in the near future. Other treatment may be necessary after the results of her surgery are determined.  If you know Donna, then you know she faces every challenge head on with a fierce determination. If she sets her sights on something nothing can stop her from achieving the end result. Her passion carries over into the way she cares for her friends and family. We set up this account to share her journey and help aid Donna and her family with her anticipated medical expenses not covered by insurance. We are also hoping that any donations will help with any day to day expenses, so that Donna and her family can focus all of their strength and energy on beating this disease, and not have to worry about trivial things.
