In December of 2022, mom caught a case of the flu A and pneumonia. She was intubated for 23 days before a tracheotomy was placed. Because the pneumonia cleared up but mom still needed the ventilator to breath for her she no longer needed to be in the icu at Floyd so she was moved to Kindred Healthcare in Jewish hospital. Mom made a huge come back and recovering, although several doctors said she’d never wake up. The morning mom was supposed to be transferred to Southern Indiana Rehab, mom fell early in the morning. She went 7 minutes with no air or pulse before they were able to bring her back. Again, they said she’d never wake up and would have sever brain damage

Mom proved them all wrong and on Feb. 28th I got to pick mom up on what I didn’t know would be the last time I’d ever see her again. She passed away 2 days later in her moms home.

My mom had a heart of gold. When she loved, it was unconditional. She seen the good in everyone and would give a stranger the shirt off her back. We had no life insurance for mom.

This was the last thing any of us expected or anticipated. I want to give my mom a ceremony as beautiful as she is. Anything anyone can do to help would be more than appreciated.
