Donna Rose Medical Costs

Donation protected
On April 8, 2024, a father and daughters’ lives were changed forever.

Donna, who is only three years old, was viscously attacked by a dog. When Donna was found, she was lying in a puddle of blood with a tremendous amount of attack wounds on her body. Her face, head, lungs, buttocks, and liver had received damage. Donna’s lungs and liver were both punctured, the ligaments in her left leg were exposed, her bottom left eyelid was removed during the attack, along with multiple lacerations upon her face.

The meninges, the membrane covering the brain, had been torn. Donna received an unknown number of stitches that were placed all over her body from head to toe.

Donna is a young sweet girl with her whole life ahead of her. Donna is a daddy’s girl through and through who loves to watch Paw Patrol and play with her cat and to be outdoors. A girl who loves to work out with her dad as he does his sets. Currently, she is facing a multitude of surgeries and has a long road to recovery ahead of her.

Her father, Charles, is currently on FMLA and will not be receiving any compensation from his workplace as the incident did not happen to him directly. During his time off with his daughter, he will be caring for her as he already does full time but without any compensation to pay for bills, gas, and medical expenses for Donna. As Charles cares for Donna, he will be making an unknown number of trips to Kansas City Children's Hospital for checkups and surgeries.

At this time, Donna is not allowed to leave her house for two weeks per the doctor overseeing Donna’s case. Donna, though she is only three, is a strong young girl who needs help to get through the next few months.

Many of you may know and some may not know me, my name is Jordan Thorpe.
Charles and I have been seeing each other for over six months now. During the course of our relationship, I was introduced to his daughter, Donna Rose. I immediately fell in love with Donna and took her in as one of my own.

On April 8th, I received the phone call that no parent wants to receive. I was told Donna was attacked by a dog and she was injured severely. I then told my brother, Derek Sparks, about the situation and advised him that Charles would be off work for several weeks tending to the needs of Donna along with taking her to her doctors’ appointments.

Shortly after I told Derek, he immediately helped me create the fundraiser for Donna to help alleviate some of the financial burden that Charles may face whilst being off work and on FMLA.

Recently, I received a notification that this fundraiser was reported, unsure as to why. I wanted to share with you all that this fundraiser is not for myself. It was created to help Charles and Donna, to take some of the stress off of them during their time of need. I did not want Charles to worry about how he would pay his bills or worry about funds to take Donna back to her follow up doctor appointments and future surgeries.

Charles and Donna will receive the entirety of the funds raised for them. I want to personally thank each and every single one of you who have donated to Charles and Donna during their most crucial time of need.

Once our goal is reached, I will transfer the funds directly to Charles as he is the beneficiary of it all.

I will try to keep everyone up to date on the progress of Donna during her healing.
