HELP DONNA VISIT HER SICK MOTHER

My name is Ilona Thurston, and I am starting a GoFundMe to help Donna Vannan go visit her sick mother who lives in Tasmania, Australia.

I met Donna at Maximum Zen Bakery, her vegan/vegetarian eatery in Clark's Summit, Pa. Donna has been a fixture in the NEPA food scene for many years and is known to many throughout the region for her inventive style of cookery, her ability/willingness to educate on the benefits of healthful eating, and for her kindness and generosity.

Recently Donna shared with me that her mother, Yvonne, suffered a serious stroke in early April 2023 and is currently in recovery. Naturally, Donna is very worried about her mother and to top it off she has not physically seen her mother since 1988. I just can’t even imagine what that feels like. While Donna and her mother chat on Skype, often while Donna is at home testing recipes for Maximum Zen, it cannot compare to seeing her mother in person and giving her a big hug and offering physical, moral and emotional support in her time of need.

I am hoping to raise $8,000-$10,000 for airfare as well as business and personal expenses while Donna is away as the restaurant is the primary source of income for her family. She is a gem and I think all who know her would want to help her.
