Donna's Flying Heart Farm Fire Relief Fund

Some of you may know our beloved friend Donna from her years of working as a nurse for Ashland Home Health and Hospice. Over the years she may have helped care for your parent or loved one.
Some of you may know her from her years of love and support of dance, especially her beloved Dancing People Company.
Some of you may know her from her passionate love and support of local live music in the valley.
What you may not know is that as a "farm girl" from Vermont, Donna's dream was to be on the land and share it with others to grow food and medicine. Flying Heart Farm was the result of that dream. Living here for the past 10 years she opened her heart and home to many who were temporarily unhoused, providing a refuge for those who needed a place to recover and heal. I myself have benefited from her generosity in my own times of trouble. She truly embodies her dream of Flying Heart Farm.
Her dream went up in smoke on Tuesday. The farmhouse, greenhouse, lavender beds and crops were all consumed in a fire so hot and fast moving that nothing remains except some twisted metal. This fire not only took the Flying Heart Farm but also all the belongings of a young family who were lovingly helping her care for the farm at the time of the fire.
Donna is safe and comfortable with her beloved Mikey and somehow feels guilty enjoying the luxury of water, power and internet while so many have nothing and nowhere to go to shelter. She is asking for financial help from those of us who are also safe and comfortable, especially those outside of Oregon who are wondering and asking how they can help. Once her immediate needs are met, she plans to help her friends and former patients, many of who are elderly and disabled. She cried when she was telling me about them.
Donna is a true friend who gives so generously and loves so completely. I have so richly benefited from her friendship, and I am guessing you have too. She now needs our help.
