Donnie Elliott disability fund
Hello everybody, last spring Donnie went into renal failure with his kidneys operating at 6%. He began going to the Dialysis Teaching unit in Saint John and up until the start of March this year did his Perateneal Dialysis from home 4 times a day, 7 days a week. As anyone who has done this knows, it does take up a huge part of your life, but with that at least there wasn't that much travel to Saint John regularly. In March Donnie fell ill and needed hospitalization in Saint John for just over eight weeks. That is a long stay to be sure and during that stay they switched him to Hemo-dialysis. This has been done three times a week at the Regional since he got out of the hospital and will be switching to the Sussex satellite unit, which will help lessen the travel expense. But there are still expenses that we just can't meet. We have had support from our family and my employer and that has made it possible. It does put a strain on everyone with so many trips to the city and everything else involved with an ongoing illness on a budget with no wiggle room to begin with. It has been quite debilitating. This isn't something that we ask for help with lightly and we hope Donnie's dialysis may change back to the former Perataneal so he can do that from home, but even with that, we find ourselves in need of help.
Through his musical career Donnie sat behind the drums at many fund raisers and benefits for the people and families of Sussex and this region. This time he is the one who can use the help and so if you find it possible to do so we as a family would be so grateful. Any amount, small or large will definitely help with the ongoing cost of travel and the struggle of living with one paycheck and a small disability pension. It's not easy to go public and ask for help but sometimes it is truly needed.
This is a video that Donnie created from his days with Silver Canyon and playing through the years. It shows a lot of wonderful memories with wonderful people.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

I just did a little test donation to see how it worked and I couldn't use my Royal Bank card but could use my TD. I wanted to share this because if you are trying to donate using a debit card it has to be a debit card that has the expiration date and cvv number on the back.
If you would like to donate and do not have that type of bank card, please contact me through facebook.
