Hello, and thank you for your time in reading this message.

On December 28, 2023, Donovan Anthony Lee Frater, Jr. was suddenly and violently taken from his family and friends in a tragic auto accident.

Donovan was a beloved son, fiancé, brother, and friend. His sudden passing has left us all reeling in shock and grief.
Donavon was born on August 14, 1994, and was a shining beacon in the lives of everyone who knew him.
Donovan was a proud alumni of Bethune-Cookman University (BCU 2017,) a brilliant student who earned his BS in Physical Education and MS in Public Health, and a remarkable athlete, earning 3 MEAC Championships in track with his beloved Wildcats. He was also heavily involved with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., which accepted him the ranks of its Omicron Omicron “Mighty OO” Chapter in the Fall of 2015. Donovan was the “Tre” of the line and he was known to his Brothers as “GQ 3."
But even more than his great accomplishments, it was Donavon's spirit and joy for life that touched us most deeply. His smile, kindness, and compassion made an indelible and lasting mark on our hearts.
Whether he was playing golf with his dad, cheering for his favorite Miami sports teams, or simply being with his family and friends, his love for life was absolutely infectious.

Today, we are reaching out to ask for your support in helping the Frater family navigate through this difficult time. The unexpected nature of this tragedy has brought not just emotional but also financial burdens. Through this campaign, we aim to raise funds to cover the mounting costs of memorializing and celebrating our beloved Donovan, ensuring that his family can focus on healing and honoring his memory without the added stress of financial difficulty.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help the family immensely and will be a testament to the love and respect we all hold for Donavon. Your support in sharing this campaign across your networks will also be greatly appreciated.

We are immensely grateful for any support you can provide – financial, emotional, or otherwise. It is in these times of loss and sadness that the strength of our community shines the brightest. Let us come together to celebrate Donavon's life and to support those he left behind in their time of need.

A few details:
1) I've worked with Donovan's father for nearly 10 years and this is done with the full approval and cooperation of the Frater family.
2) Funds will be first and foremost used for the meeting space where the family and friends will join together to celebrate Donovan's life. Any funds raised over that will go directly to Donovan Sr. to be used for additional funerary and memorial costs.
3) The full obituary for Donovan, containing all of the detailed memorial and funeral information is here: https://postellsmortuary.com/donavon-anthony-lee-frater-jr-august-14-1994-december-28-2023/

Update: THANK YOU SO MUCH! To everyone who has donated, I can’t overstate how much your donation will help the family out through this trying time. I’ve increased the funding goal in the hopes that additional donations will continue to come in to help the family out.
Again, thank you all for your donations and time, and please share with any friends or family of the Fraters who might not be aware of this.

Update 2: we’ve now surpassed our second goal, thanks to the incredible outpouring of generosity from all of our friends. If you know of any additional friends or family who would be willing to contribute, please feel free to send this link to them. Thank you all again, on behalf of Donovan and Gwen.
