Donovan Stark- Our little fighter
Donation protected
Meet John and Micaiah's new baby boy, Donovan. At ten days old he and his mom were medevaced from Juneau to Seattle. He was losing weight even though he ate like a little piglet. His little belly ballooned into a hard rock (39cm). The doctors suspected Hirschsprung Disease. It is a condition where the nerve endings in his large intestine are either missing or immature that they don't fire to signal expulsion of his waste products. They put him on IV nutrition and irrigated his bowels to clear the blockage. This morning they operated on him and removed 5" of his large intestine. He's just 18 days old. Time will tell for the road ahead. We would like to ask friends and family for whatever support they can offer whether it be moral support, prayers, or financial. During Donovan's recovery the family will have to travel from their home in Juneau to Seattle to see his specialized doctors. During this trying time for their new little family, the last thing we want is for them to worry about how to get Donovan the care he needs.
