Don’t Close the Book on Stoneham: Save Our Library

Stoneham, Massachusetts is facing an unprecedented threat: our public library may be defunded.

The Stoneham Public Library is more than a building. It’s the heart of our community. It’s where children learn to read, where job seekers find resources, where seniors stay connected, and where neighbors gather to learn, grow, and thrive. It belongs to all of us.

Right now, proposed budget cuts could drastically reduce services—or close the library’s doors altogether. The final vote is May 5. And the clock is ticking.

That’s why we’re launching this community fundraiser: to help fill the gap, build long-term support, and show that Stoneham stands behind its library.

Your donation will help:

  • Preserve essential services and programs
  • Fund community outreach and library advocacy
  • Support staffing, collections, and public access resources
  • Demonstrate grassroots commitment to the library’s future

Whether you use the library every week or simply believe Stoneham deserves a thriving public space for learning and connection, now is the time to act.

This campaign is organized by the Friends of the Stoneham Library, a registered nonprofit that has supported the library for decades. All funds raised will go directly toward preserving and strengthening library access in our town.

Let’s protect what we’ve built—together.

Donate today. Share widely. And help us make sure we don’t close the book on Stoneham.
