Don’t Fear, Have Faith. That’s what I’ve always been told. However, I realized through the process of building my company, Extreme Wig Care, LLC, and its Wig Maintenance and Storage System™ (Patent Pending Applications: 18/329,796 and 29/901,007), the Wig Queen™ (Shower Baby™ and Door Baby™), that it really wasn’t my truth. In fact, right now I’m questioning the process of reaching out to you for support – As I don’t want to be in fear any more. I’m walking out an enormous vision that is taking me down an unfamiliar path, and I strongly believe that I will go much further and faster with a great team and supporters like you.

Still, I’m no stranger to fear – Me and my mom are both breast cancer survivors, so fear has been at our doorsteps before now. In fact, through God’s grace and mercy I’m a survivor of 17 years and my mom 7. It’s by walking through cancer with the Lord that I grew to love wigs. They helped me to feel more confident during a time when my self-esteem was low. I prayed that the Lord would heal us, and today cancer is part of our testimonies!

Nonetheless, overcoming the battle of fear isn’t a one-time occurrence. Oh, how I wish that it was - From the moment that the Wig Queen™’s Shower Baby™ and Door Baby™ were dropped into my dream, I woke up frightened. I tried to ignore the vision for months; however, it wouldn’t go away! That’s because it made complete sense! Consumers wear wigs for many different reasons, heredity, illness, chemical processes, tight braiding, busy lifestyles or just plain enjoyment. Still, wigs aren’t cheap so in these tough economic times, it’s important for consumers to properly care for them to extend their shelf-life, usefulness and save money.

Extreme Wig Care’s Wig Queen™ helps consumers properly care for their beloved wigs in a convenient, easy to use and space-saving manner. I previously washed my wigs in the bathroom sink, but they got tangled and water always ended up on my tiled floors creating a slip hazard. In addition, there was no place to let them air dry and nowhere to conveniently store them without using a counter, shelf, clothes rack or floor space.

The cycle of “Wash…Dry…Store” is just this convenient.

The Wig Queen™ with its dual-purpose Butterfly Pod™ solves all these problems. Consumers can now wash their wigs while taking a shower or while standing outside the shower (Shower Baby™). The choice is theirs! Also, wigs can air dry from the same shape-holding Butterfly Pod™ without being moved by using an innovative vacuum-suction system that conveniently hangs on bathroom shower walls. To make life even simpler, wigs can be stored on the back of any closet door (Door Baby™) from that same pod by using an adjustable-length, strap-latching system. Wash…Dry…Store. What could be simpler!

Developing the Wig Queen™’s prototype presented fear around every corner, and besides the countless number of hours and huge amount of energy invested to keep it going so far, I’ve also had to use retirement savings and take on large amounts of consumer debt, tens of thousands of dollars. The mind is a battlefield, and some days this enormous accomplishment under the weight of debt feels like a 350-pound gorilla is sitting on my chest.

However, the prototype works well, and I know that it’ll make some other wig wearer’s life easier like it has mine. Along this journey I realized that I’m only human, so fear is a natural emotion. However, like with breast cancer, I had to pick a side; fear or faith. After picking faith, I had to ask God to help me walk through the fear! Today, I have a functional, patent-pending prototype. Now, we’re working with Project Hub, a prototype engineering firm and our preferred product launch partner that’s using modern engineering practices and technologies to help us bring the Wig Queen™ to consumers in an efficient and effective way. Together, we’ll take this basic prototype to the next level. Our plan is to provide the Wig Queen™ in black, pink, green, purple and numerous other vibrant colors with some wonderful accessories so it’s both functional and beautiful. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but with $125,000, we can cover some of the costs of engineering development, manufacturing tooling, first article production, assembly and testing, completing an e-commerce website, package design and development, marketing, product distribution, and get ready for launch.

I’m also exploring other funding options to avoid burying Extreme Wig Care under so much start-up debt that it can’t be successful, a major reason why so many small businesses fail at a young age. In addition, I’m including all financial supporters into special drawings for a free Wig Queen™ Shower Baby™ or Door Baby™ – The first 10 each off the production line. That’s right, I’ll be giving away 10 Shower Babies™ and 10 Door Babies™ and each will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by me as CEO that it is one of the first groundbreaking units. You can keep your unit and certificate as memorabilia of your support, use the system for yourself or give it away to someone special to help simplify their life, maybe even someone in your life battling breast cancer.

Don’t Fear, Have Faith. I won’t let my fear overshadow my faith and cause me to quit. I’m committed, and your support is exactly what I need to make this a reality. I pray that helping me walk through my journey might give you the courage to walk through your own.
