Don't have property insurance, EVERYTHING is gone

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share a heartbreaking incident that has left my roommate and me in a state of shock and despair.

On the night of November 10th, at 10:30 p.m., a fire broke out at Reserve at Lavista, claiming everything we owned. As second-year students at Georgia State University, we arrived in the U.S. two years ago and had been living in a La Vista apartment since the beginning of our journey.

Attempting to save money as international students, we were advised by one of the managers that property insurance wasn't necessary. Unfortunately, we trusted this advice and, as a result, found ourselves without insurance coverage when the unthinkable happened.

I thought it wasn't serious when the fire alarm went off. It happened 10 times in two months Evacuating in light clothes, we had no idea that it would be the last time we would see our home standing. In the blink of an eye, our residence turned into ashes, leaving us with nothing but memories.

As we navigate through this devastating loss, we are reaching out to seek support from our community. Every contribution, regardless of its size, will bring us one step closer to stability and help us rebuild our lives in the United States.
